Dung Fungi

Our third talk takes place Sunday, February 22 at 11:00 AM and focuses on dung fungi—a remarkably diverse and ecologically important group.

The discussion brings together three experts from both sides of the Atlantic: Sigrid Jacob of the New York Mycological Society, alongside Scottish mycologists Alfred Drummond-Herdman and Darren Gordon. Together, they’ll explore the biology, ecology, and overlooked complexity of fungi that specialize in life on dung.

Expect a lively, transatlantic conversation grounded in field experience and deep fungal curiosity.

This online event is exclusive to RIMycoS members as part of the MycoConsortium Winter Lecture Series, a collaborative program of participating mycological clubs.
