Frenchtown Foray
East Greenwich, Rhode Island
The Rhode Island Mycological Society, in partnership with the East Greenwich Land Trust, is hosting a Fungal Foray on June 17 at 5:30 PM - at Frenchtown Park / Frye Preserve
What to expect:
• Meeting time & place: 5:30 PM at the main trailhead - please park in such a way that leaves room for other cars!
• Small-group foray: 1.5-2 hours of guided mushroom-hunting in small groups
• Identification session: One hour [or as long as it takes] of specimen ID and group discussion
You are welcome to walk the trails before and after as much as you wish.
What to bring:
water
a light snack or snacks
bug spray
Children are always welcome but PLEASE no pets [yes even the well-behaved ones] at this foray - we would like to focus on the mushrooms!
Please be aware that this is not a foraging walk and we are not collecting mushrooms to eat them! This is to document species and to discuss their ecology.
Registration is currently limited to 30 participants.
One form should be filled out per person.
If you sign up and later realize you cannot attend, please reach out to Marina at kvikerm@gmail.com so we can offer your space to someone else.
Everyone will be assigned to a group leader randomly - we will email you who your group leader is in your confirmation email. If you are coming with a friend and would like to be grouped with your buddy, please specify this, and we will do our best!
Any questions, please reach out to mk.rimycos@gmail.com.
If the form is closed and you would like to be placed on a wait list please email mk.rimycos@gmail.com
