Join the RImycoS Survey Team
Help document fungi on conservation lands throughout the year.
RImycoS members are invited to join small survey teams visiting The Nature Conservancy and Audubon Society of Rhode Island properties. Groups of 4–5 members will survey with a group leader to document which fungi are present as the seasons change.
This is a good opportunity to learn in a smaller group setting than our larger public forays while contributing to fungal biodiversity records in Rhode Island.
What to Expect
Each survey will be approximately 2–3 miles and 2–3 hours in the woods. These surveys may involve leaving the trail, walking through rough terrain, bushwhacking, and exposure to ticks.
Important Notes
Participation is limited. Submitting interest does not guarantee a spot. You will be notified by email if there is space on the survey date you requested.
This project may not be a good fit if you are uncomfortable with rough terrain, ticks, or off-trail walking.
