Pinto, a Boston-area writer, mycophile, and educator born in Jamaica and raised in South Florida, takes readers on a journey spanning the aromatic mysteries of truffles, the possibility that enslaved people wielded mycological knowledge as a form of resistance, zombie fungi, ecological interconnection, and the radical promise of mutual aid.
