Frenchtown Park Foray
Wednesday, August 12 | 6:00 PM | East Greenwich
The Frenchtown Trail System connects protected woodlands, wetlands, streams, historic mill sites, and several miles of trails. We are returning as part of our ongoing partnership with the East Greenwich Municipal Land Trust.
What to expect: After a brief orientation, groups will explore different parts of the trail system with a walk leader. Participants will learn where fungi grow, how to photograph useful field details, and how to collect a complete specimen when appropriate. We will then meet at the tables to examine the collections and discuss the structures, substrates, and ecological relationships that help us identify and understand fungi.
No expertise is required. This is a study-focused foray. Fungi collected during the event are for identification and documentation only, not for eating or personal use.
